Chillies Indian And Nepalese Restaurant

Food was very good, haven't been here for a while but still a good standard. Good menu selection and very tasty. Table service was a bit slow even though it wasn't busy. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. Not too busy for a Saturday evening but this could be the takeover of uber eats! Definitely worth a night out of the couch.

We ordered the beef vindaloo, lamb vindaloo for us and the chicken korma for the kids. The vindaloos had the perfect spice kick and nice chunks of meat, not just fat like some other restaurants, and the korma was sweet for the kids with no spice. We also ordered the garlic naan which had great flavour and generous size. The rice sizes were decent and affordable. The service was great, the staff didn’t miss a beat and asked us how the spice level was. Go here if you’re keen on Indian. We will be back photo of empty plates because it was so good!

Best Indian restaurant in Hobart by far!! Chillies is the best Indian restaurant in Hobart by far!! I have lived in Hobart for 10+ years but always go here for Authentic Indian cuisine! The food is very fresh and well made. They even make home made desserts like Gulab Jamun. Which was freshly made and cooked. Butter chicken here is amazing and highly recommended it. Friendly service and good environment and not too pricy. Definitely recommend if anyone is looking for delicious Indian food.

I’ve dined at Chillies twice in the past month, and both visits have been consistently enjoyable. The food is fresh, flavourful, and clearly made with care. The samosas were delicious, and the naan bread was just right—soft, warm, and perfectly cooked. I tried the beef vindaloo on my first visit and the chicken vindaloo on the second. Both dishes delivered that authentic flavour you hope for in a good curry. I ordered both meals with a “hot” spice level, but I found them to be quite mild—flavourful, yes, but lacking the expected heat. That said, the overall taste still made the meals very satisfying. Service has been another strong point here. The staff are friendly, efficient, and attentive. One thing to be aware of: rice isn’t included with the main dishes. We weren’t informed of this during our first visit and only realised after the meals were served, so we had to order rice separately. Will I return? Absolutely. The quality of the food and service make it worth coming back.

The food was absolutely amazing. It came super quick and it was so delicious and was such high-quality. All the stuff there were super nice and the atmosphere is comfortable and family friendly. I would definitely recommend this place!
